is a tease!
By the time spring break rolls around, it is soooooo needed! It's a time for us to regroup, catch up and spend quality time together. It is also a little glimpse of what summer will be like (the teasing part), at this point in the year summer is so close we can taste it, yet so far away it seems unfair.
To start Spring Break off, Benji surprised me with a McCall get away for two nights.....without children (a huge thank you to Ashley, Pete, Marshall and Tabatha). We left the minute school got out on Friday and it was a heavenly way to start out Spring Break. This was the first time Benji and I had gone somewhere, not work related, over night, without the kids. I will admit I was a little freaked about leaving Addison for TWO nights but she survived and we returned better parents.
When we returned home from McCall on Sunday we made a Spring Break bucket list with the kids, everyone got to pick one activity to do over break.
- Benji- Bowling
- Michelle - A trip to the zoo
- Ella - Wahoos
- Cooper - Chuck-e-Cheese
The week started off raining so it was a perfect excuse to start off the list with bowling. Tabatha, Adian, Jan (their German exchange student) and Lily joined us.
Addison spent her time sitting in the stoller and loved watching everyone.
This was Cooper's first time Bowling.
After bowling we walked around the Village, the fountain is always a big hit with the kids.
Papa Tony had Ella and Cooper over for a Monster Mission. I am not sure all the details in catching the monsters, but I know Ella and Cooper loved it!
This picture represents my favorite part about spring break, hanging out with each other.
Cooper got his wish, a trip to Chuck-e-Cheese. He loves this place and Maryn and Kai joining us made it even better!
The end of the week was warm and delightful! The yard got cleaned up, the kids spent a lot of time playing with our wonderful neighbors and twice a water fight broke out. I think this was the icing on the cake for spring break but also what made it so hard to return to school on Monday.
Somehow I don't have any pictures of us at Wahoos, but it did happen. Ella and Cooper were all about winning tickets and prizes. We never made it to the zoo, but it will make an appearance on the Summer bucket list.
