Sun Valley

The last week of July we headed to Sun Valley to end our summer in one of our favorite places.  This was our first trip away from home as a family of five and after all the packing was done, I have to say, it was very delightful! Our first full day at the cabin the weather dropped as low as 28 degrees(at night and a welcoming change). We stayed at the cabin the whole day and played games, read books, built a fire and went for walks whenever the rain/snow stopped.

The next day, out came the sun and we headed to Galena for a hike, it was beautiful.

When we got to this water on the trail, we all stopped to discuss the best approach (the driest) for crossing. In the split second we stopped, Cooper decided to take off running across the very middle of the large puddle. When he got to the other side he looked at us and said, "come on, let's go." We all started laughing.
We need a "selfie stick".

After the hike we stopped for some ice cream, horseshoes and swinging.
This place always makes us think of Pops.

While we were in Sun Valley we also checked out the new lodge.
We had a great time walking around looking at all the new changes and I could not stop talking about how beautiful the flowers were.

Although it warmed up the mornings were still very cold, in the 30's, perfect for hot chocolate!

 Morning walks with Grandpa.

While those three were shooting some bow-n-arrows,
Addie and I were left with nothing to do but take a selfie.
