....Of the Tooth Fairy happened during the first week of August.
Ella came to us telling us she had a loose tooth.
Michelle would not admit that this was happening as "she is too young!"
I however tried to convince Ella of different ways to pull it.
She was not a fan of the "rocket hooked to a string" or "the old doorknob trick."
So she came home on a Wednesday and it was kind of loose, but I told her she had at least a week before it was loose enough to pull. She thought having pizza would help pull it out so we tried that.
I should have known she would take that as a challenge.
She went to school the next day and all she did was wiggle it. She told me she used her tongue and her fingers and tried to get it "looser" all day.
So she came home on Thursday and this is what I saw. Her tooth barely even hanging on.
Yes this is what happened when she pushed on it with her tongue. As you can see it was really already out, she had done all of the hard work for me.
She was pretty scared and did not like me putting my fingers in her mouth to try and pull it. I assured her that if it hurt I would stop whenever she told me to.
I finally got her to sit still for maybe 3 seconds and grabbed the tooth and gave it a quick tug and out popped this tiny tooth. I was surprised how small they really are. She was so excited.
I did not even get to tell her, as Grandpa Link used to say "if you don't stick your tongue in the hole a gold tooth will grow back" (as he would show you one of his gold teeth), before she stuck her tongue in it and smiled at me.
She ran straight outside to show Michelle and Cooper. She has now shown about everyone in our neighborhood and of course her aunts, uncles and cousins.
