Fingerprints have formed on our baby's tiny fingertips, his or her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and the body is starting to catch up with the head — which makes up just a third of his/her body size now. Our baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As I start the second trimester, most of the baby's critical development will be completed. Crazy!
Our baby's ears are now developed enough that he/she can hear when you sing or talk. All 20 teeth buds have formed inside our baby's mouth; but, of course, the teeth aren't visible yet. (That would make predicting orthodontist bills way too easy!)

Momma needs to start singing to my grandchild too! I want her/him to grow up LOVING music, so start now!
All my love to all three of you!

That is fantastic! It's good to know that the baby can get a head start on loving music :)

You know, 1 in 2,000 babies are born with a tooth showing. Julius Caesar, Hannibal, and Napoleon were supposedly some of these babies. So don't go assuming your baby/shrimp just has teeth buds!
