So, one day in January Ella brought home a letter about speed jump roping. We asked, "What is this?" She began to tell us how a year ago she made a goal to make the speed jump team at school and today she tried out and made it. How knew? We didn't!
She went to school early every morning to practice along with her biggest cheerleader, Cooper. We got her a special jump rope and she practiced and practiced. March 6 finally came, the district's speed jump competition. She kept telling us she was not that good and she most likely would not make it past the first round. We kept telling her we were just proud of her for giving it a try. We should have known, she is a go-getter! She made it to all three rounds and ended up getting 5th place in fifth-grade girl's forward jumping! It was so much fun to see her so proud of herself and we had the best time cheering her on.
