My favorite part of the whole trip was the one I was most nervous about and the one we have no pictures of, boo. That was the walk in! We left Friday after school to find a cabin in the woods, off of the highway, that we had to hike into. We arrived around 8pm with two sleeping kids in the backseat and Uncle Pete waiting along the highway to show us the way in. I was a little nervous how Coop and Ella would take being sound asleep to getting out and hiking more than a mile, up hill, in the snow (a lot of snow), in the dark, and cold.
Well, Ella was a trooper! We moved fast, gathering all of our stuff we needing and dressed the kids in a few more layers and off we went. I carried Cooper in a backpack so he had it easy and Ella started the walk sitting on the cooler that was riding on a sled. About three minutes in Ella decide to walk and made it the whole way with her "magic hiking boots." It was beautiful! So many stars to look at and the quiet stillness.
Thank you Pearson family for such a wonderful weekend! It was just what we needed, some r&r, in a perfect cabin, in the woods, with a beautiful view of Bolder.
