Well...

It was a normal day at work until Ms. Lyndsay (Daycare) called to tell me Ella was very upset saying she had a rock in her ear. They had taken a look but could not see anything and they had just been sitting at circle when this happened. Oh what to do??? Well, if the girl says she has a rock in her ear, she most likely has a rock in her ear. So I got someone to cover my class and I was off to assess the situation. When I got to childcare she was in good spirits and looked alright, smiling in fact. I asked her how a rock got in her ear and she simply said, "I don't know, it just got there." Oh what to do???? Well if there is a rock in her ear it has to come out, right? So off we went to the quick care up the street.
The Dr took a look and poked around for a minute but could not tell if she was poking at a rock or a tube Ella may or may not still have. She said she was going to go talk to a colleague and the next thing we new we had an appointment with an ENT in Boise.
So I ran Ella back to childcare for lunch, I ran to school to do sub plans for the rest of the day, ran back to pick Ella and Cooper up, ran home so Coop could take a very shot nap (which we paid dearly for later), then off to the ENT.
While we were at home I took a moment to chat with Ella about putting things in her ear. I simply said, you know rocks don't JUST get in your ears. She quickly replied with, "I KNOW, they don't have legs. When are we going to get it out? I can't go to my cousins house with a rock in my ear?"
When we got to the ENT he looked in both ears and found a rock in both of them. Not one rock, but TWO. They were sitting on the ear drum and she was going to need to lay very still to get them out. He quickly got her on board with a sucker and chocolate. With the help of a long pokey thing, a vacuum, and a shake of the head out they came.

The far right is her tube and some wax (yum) that came out with the rocks that are on the left and bottom.
