Day one: I, more than anyone else, was most excited to go to the San Diego Zoo. I'm not sure why, but it has been on my list for awhile now. We got there right before it opened and we were ready to spend the day.
At the opening of the zoo, they let these birds go and they fly over all of the guest waiting to enter. Cool!
We headed right for the pandas hoping to beat the crowd. We beat the crowd but the pandas were all still sound asleep.
On our way to the pandas we walked throw a rainforest area that was so beautiful. The kids loved looking at all the different leaves and flowers that had fallen to the ground.
After the pandas we spent the rest of the morning walking, and boy did we walk! Cooper was a trooper with his little legs and it was hot. Oh, and the zoo is not flat! We went down hills, up hills, down hills, up....you get the picture?
Ella and Cooper loved these animal statues throughout the zoo. Cooper loved this tiger (his favorite animal).
Ella loves elephants and we loved the smile and excitement on her face getting to see these majestic animals up close.
These guys were fun to watch, we could have spent the whole day hanging out with these crazy orangutans.
All in all the day was fun! We saw a lot of sleeping animals, we walked a ton and our feet were tired. We headed back to the hotel for an early dinner and bedtime. We were all exhausted (Coop's favorite word)!
