San Diego Here We Come

One mom, two kids in their own seat and one 21 month old on a lap....what could go wrong? Benji had a conference in San Diego the end of June and we decided we would all fly down and join him after his conference was over.  The San Diego part sounded fun but I won't lie, I was a little nervous about the getting there part.  

The kids were great and and everything went as smoothly as one could hope for.  We had an hour in Sacramento to use the bathroom, get a snack and walk a little.  Ella and Cooper talked me into buying them these stuffed animals while we waited to board our plane and I have to say, they were worth every penny.  They played with them the whole flight into San Diego and were so quiet while Addison slept.

I was so relieved when my eyes saw his eyes, standing right outside the gate waiting for us.  He had picked up our rental car and was ready to go.  

I had promised the kids ice cream if our travels went well ( yes, I was not above bribing in this situation) so our fist stop was gelato.  We spent some time walking around the pier in downtown San Diego, right by where Benji had stayed for his conference.  We stayed in a different part of town at a Residence Inn (we needed a kitchen).
